Skiing

Jämin Jänne Inc., located in the North-Satakunta Region, is a ski club strongly investing in skiing. The best known skier of Jämin Jänne is currently Kirsi Välimaa in the Women’s Category. In older categories, Jämin Jänne is represented by the champion in triathlons, Tiina Boman, as well as by Sanna Vuorinen, the Rantanen brothers, Henri and Joni, and Ossi Hoikkala.

In past years, Jämin Jänne has carried out outstanding work for youth, and actually many promising talents have emerged to take part in the future Silver Ring (Hopeasompa) Championship. Thus, next winter, Jämin Jänne has the possibility to send a team of ten skiers as well as two relay teams to the mentioned competition in Kouvola. During the past three years Jämin Jänne has been represented only by two or three skiers.

Ski tunnel

The ski tunnel of the Jämin Jänne Snow World makes it possible to train skiing all year round. Jämin Jänne supports the training of its skiers by providing them with free tickets for the tunnel.

Ski suits

The skiers of Jämin Jänne have already been wearing for three skiing seasons uniform ski suits with sponsors’ logos. The main colours of their ski suits are blue and white. Some skiers will have their own ski suits during the coming season. All Jämin Jänne skiers will have new ski gloves with the logo of the club. The whole warm-up and ski wear will be renewed in 2006 in joint venture. Thanks to the future cooperation partners, the club will be able to purchase new ski wear at a good price.

Activities

Jämin Jänne finances many of its activities by voluntary work necessitating the contribution of many enthusiastic ski supporters besides skiers’ own parents. Voluntary work is carried out in the ski tube or the ski lift, or sometimes it is organized for specific occasions. Jämin Jänne also gives to rental two tents for various events. Youth activities are supported by the income generated by the ski lift as well as by various companies and associations.
