Ski school

Jämin Jänne has a ski school in Jämi at so called “Postilaatikolla" (located at 500 meters from Jämi in the direction of the ski lift). During the period when the ground is unfrozen, the ski school organizes walking with sticks and also various training sessions and games. On Fridays at 6 pm, the 12-year old and younger juniors gather together. Skiers of all levels are accepted into the group, which is divided into several smaller groups each one having a training programme corresponding to the level of the skiers. Ski school activities take place from the end of August to Christmas. In summer, various trainings in orienteering and athletics are organized by local sports clubs.

The Silver Ring (Hopeasompa) Group (13-16-year old skiers) have their own training programme on Sunday mornings. Virpi Niemi (tel. 040 8375 703) is heading the group.

The 10-year old youngsters train rhythmical change by the “ticktack” method in the attractive scenery of Jämi.

Camps

Jämin Jänne organizes regional and local camps for its skiers. Moreover, in October-November, a weekend camp is organized in the ski lift lodge.
